Company Background

Our story begins in the Trinity Alps Wilderness, where Zack Schwemer, owner and operator, was raised in a US Forest Service barracks. His father served the Forest Service as a tree faller ,dozer operator, and eventually rose to leave the Shasta T equipment, fleet division. Following that legacy, Zack joined the local volunteer fire department, earning certifications in:

• Control 3

• Structural firefighting

• Wildland fire fighting.

We transitioned into timber falling along the southern Oregon coast, where Zack gained experience in large-scale, selective thinning. From there, our operations expanded into Cable, Skyline and Skidder logging.

For the last 12 years we've worked throughout the Tahoe national Forest collaborating with top-tier tree service companies on residential an urban logging projects. Today, we are returning our focus to forest restoration, fuels reduction and sustainable forestry projects along the region. We stay fully compliant with all local, environmental and safety regulations applying best practices in modern forestry and wildlife prevention.

Certifications & Personnel

Our team holds active Certifications in: Wildland Firefighting, ISA Certified Arborist, Class A Commercial Driver's license.

We are currently recruiting a Licensed Forester to strengthen compliance and project oversight.

All Treez is proud to have an ongoing partnership with Tri-State Fire/ Parson Fire, a respected local contract wildland fire crew. This mutual benefit relationship strengthens both of our operations:

• Forestry equipment operation

• Sustainable forestry and fire prevention practices

In return, we can access to top-tier wildland fire fighting hand crew, especially valuable, unsensitive Forest Projects for heavy equipment is prohibited, such as:

• Hand and hand piling

• Pile burning

• Controlled/prescribed burns

This collaboration allows the fire crew to hone their skills during the off-season, maintain peak readiness for wildfire response. Just like logging, wildland firefighting is an industry where anything less than 100% is not an option- and this partnership keeps both teams sharp, safe and effective.

"Zack insured that the project objectives were met, which included cutting of all marked trees, but also going above and beyond by ensuring trees that were within the prescription perimeters that had been missed during the mark were also cut. At the start of the project, he also performed road maintenance and grading, improving the road running service, despite not being required as part of the contract. Zack did not require any material or equipment assistance and provided everything required to meet the scope of work. Zack was always kind, professional and ready to answer any questions. He was also willing to work with the Forrester to address any concerns or make minor adjustments to the work as conditions dictated.

Zack clearly cared about his work and both the environmental and aesthetic impacts of machine use in the woods. He ensured to that the greatest possible that machine or a chipper tracks were covered with dispersed wood chips to improve aesthetics and reduce the risk of sediment movement from rain splash erosion. In areas with excessive amounts of large, downed woody debris, he broke the material up to reduce fuel height and improve decomposition (chipping this material is outside the SOW). In heavily thinned areas, Zack dispersed remaining decomposing logs to provide a more natural aesthetic and to act as erosion barriers in areas around the watercourse. He also took care not to cut locally rare tree species, even if they were within the prescription size parameters .
